Anyone replaced the OEM rotors (disks) with decent wave rotors on a Speed Twin 1200? Any photos available? Photo taken from the internet as example...
No but for your consideration - I have the Galfer wavy discs on the front of my Fireblade (it’s a 2016 black edition and they were part of the standard modification by Honda) but they left the standard disc on the rear. I did consider changing to make it consistent but the galfer rear disc looks nothing like the front so explored alternatives. Found some on eBay that looked more in keeping, but did some homework first and there were a number of bad reviews so didn’t bother. I’d suggest if you do decide to change, go with the Galfer offerings.
Here you go, here's my 2009 675R with some cheapo chinese wavy discs. I think these were around £150/pr and do what they need to, I only changed them due to crash damage to one of the previous OEM discs.
Bike brake discs, compared to cars, are a total rip off and always have been. The ones above I think were less than £150 whereas Brembo, Galfer etc are above £300. Will these last as well, probably not, but then they only have to exceed 50% service time of the more expensive options to be quids in.
Totally agree! However, I find no 3rd party wave disks for the Speed Twin 1200 on the Chinese markets... Can that be??
as long as they stay in one piece there certainly cheap enough.id be worried about possible quality control levels at the manufacturer .i dont mind fitting cheap Chinese levers/mirrors ect but brake discs are a safety item i personally wouldn't want to scrimp on
They look perfectly fine, and work as intended, but yes I agree with your point. The 675r is rarely used, but I'd only put Brembo or similar quality on my 765rs.

My Super Tenere had wavy discs and they made absolutely no difference to the braking. These bikes had them from new. I certainly wouldn’t be buying them if they were more money than normal discs.
Yep fully agree, other than aesthetics which is obviously a personal thing, they make no noticeable difference in performance whatsoever.
