Thanks ! As I don't have a huge budget, I'm looking for a T100, yes I keep checking on ebay.. But it's scarry to buy on ebay as you cannot even try the bike before buying it !

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Don't rule out Triumph dealers - I bought a Bonneville SE last year from my local dealer with fewer miles and at a cheaper price than anything on ebay.

Don't be afraid to scour dealer stock on their web pages, from all over the country. This time of year they are usually desperate to shift bikes and you could get a good deal and delivery included.

    That's a good idea, thank you !!

I don't want to buy the recent bonneville like 2014/2015 since it's too expensive, but what what do you think about the previous models ? is a 2006 really different from a 2009 or 2011 ?

A 2006 Bonny will be a carburetor bike bike whereas from 2009 (?) they are all fuel injected.

Biglad is right - the earlier models 2001 to 2007 will have a 790cc engine with carbs. From 2007 they got the 865cc engine and all became fuel injected (EFI) from 2008.
The one you have highlighted is a Bonneville SE with the 17" front wheel as opposed to the 19" of the T100. This one will be the EFI model.
Price seems OK as the cheapest on Autotrader is £3500 for a 2001 model.

Call them and ask for the full spec. Has it had the performance improvement mods done? Bear in mind it is just shy of it's 18,000 mile service, so add c£250. You'll might also want to upgrade the shocks and springs. TEC are well reviewed. Allow £250 say. Ohlins were on mine when I bought it, but I'd buy TEC which are are a third the price.

Wisebuyer's Guides puts retail at £3,350 for that base model, £2,850 if private.

I'm selling my blue and white 2010 SE so have researched sale prices achieved on ebay the last few months. Wisebuyer guide retail/private price based on avge mileage, good condition, no extras or performance mods.
    2011/61 3437m £4300 (dealer) A couple of decent extras. Guide = £3900/3390
    2012/61 3870m £4673 (private) Saddle bags, screen and extras. Guide = £4000/3450
2011/60 13527m £4250 (private) Top box, centre stand, gel seat. Guide = £3800/£3290

So your dealer asking £3991 seems for 2009 model perhaps at the top end based on a small sample. But not outrageous.

If you'd prefer blue and white over black you could have my 2010/60 for not much more than that, with Ohlins, Norman Hyde low bars, exhaust and chain guard, performance mods, new rear tyre, recent front tyre, bar end mirrors, c18500 miles, recent 18k service, MOT till Sept. Delivery included. Needs a clean mind.

Ah, didn't realise swmbo was involved, in which case it's understandable that your mind has been decided on choice of colour.

If you like that one, and it all seems very genuine, then go for it. If it's like any other Triumph of that era then corrosion around the bolts is typical. You can clean that up. I reckon it looks a tidy bike from the pictures and it will probably fetch over £3000. But as HT says, it's only worth what it's worth to you. Remember, these bikes hold their value really well.

What ever you do not enter the bidding war. That only forces the price up. Get yourself a auction snipe app (just google it). Decide what your max bid is and enter in to the snipe app. Follow the instructions and it will enter your bid in the last few seconds. If your bid is above the last bid then you will get it for the last bid plus £20 or so. If the last bid is above your budget you don't get it, but you haven't gone over your budget and can wait for the next one. But as you are set on black that may be a while yet and demand will increase when the sun comes out.

    Good luck.

I got it !!!! £3100, you are right, the fair price is the one I'm willing to pay... I'm really happy about that price, and it's sold by a garage so it's reassuring. I will collect it in 10 days, looking forward to riding it !!! thanks everyone, happy to be part of the triumph family

Excellent news. That's a good price. Keep it well cleaned and it will be a joy to ride, it will fetch many admiring looks, start many interesting conversations, and will hold its value more than most bikes of a similar age.
