Im changing my oem supercorsas next week on my 17 s3r,only got 650 miles on them but I'm going Spain in 4 weeks n need something I think will be a better all round tyre, plus I think mileage wise the Pirelli's might not last trip, anyway I've gone back to what I've used n liked before n that's the Bridgestone s21,my question is our speed pressures at mo are 42r/34f the 21's on my s1000r were 42r/36f,would you stick with the triumph or bmw pressure,I know they can all be tweaked to suit but as a rule of thumb? I'm edging towards the Bmw's 42/36 just because that's what worked before or has the bike got any bearing on it?,thanks
Hi Danny You might find this of interest, I downloaded this a while ago as I had the same issues / concerns, as an aside I'm running the 023's on my beemer at present having started off on 020's then onto 021's the difference I have found to be night & day on the 023's with better performance in the wet & dry including better mileage on my R1100RT. YMMV.
How old is that article, did it reference tubed/tubeless? Triumph pressures F/R for a 2018 Tiger 1200 deviate from that article significantly, 32/39 as opposed to 36/42. So have Metzeler broke ranks or is it an old article not relevant today? I note Triumph do not have a different pressure for loaded up bikes either, one pressure fits all as per the article but my previous 2016 tubed bike had a rear tyre pressure range for solo or two up riding?
i found the front to be a bit harsh on non smooth surfaces so adjusted pressures to 34f and 40r,also turned adjusters on bottom of forks (h-s) to softer settings and 1 full click less on fork tops,a tad better at lower speeds and rougher roads without affecting higher speeds bike was always better at higher speed somehow it was lower speed issues.
