Yes same here all year round. Perhaps a little less during the winter. Have to admit i have started wearing my thermal liners now so it helps.

Thinking back to when I first started riding, apart from helmet, boots and gloves I wore very little specialist bike gear although the choice was very limited compared to what’s available today. I rode all Winter often with numb fingers and snow on the ground and didn’t think much of it but 40+yrs on I’m a good deal more nesh and regard warm weatherproof kit and now heated grips as essentials.

Had a last chilly rideout for coffee with some mates yesterday and that was enough to ensure that today the bike goes into hibernation for the winter! My bike is a hobby not everyday transport, and I don't need the chillblains!! :cold_sweat:

SORN applied, and a refund on remaining tax will be on it's way!

Why do the good old DVLA insist on refunding you with a cheque? The only cheque I ever see these days is a tax refund from DVLA.

I just pay monthly by direct debit, that way if I do need to SORN it I just do the paperwork and cancel the direct debit, no refund required ;)

I Sorn on line which takes minutes, and the cheque situation is easy enough as I still have my bank in the local town.

I know not everyone has that convenience.

Plenty of bank apps now have facility for paying in cheques. Does feel a bit anachronistic though....

The annoying thing with the cheque is that they are the "wrong size" to scan and pay in via your mobile - or at least the one I had last year was. My refund was so small that I didn't drive the distance needed to go to a branch as it wasn't really worth it.

I had a last ride out on the Tuono yesterday. All my bikes are sorned now, except the Street triple which I'll keep road legal in case November offers up some bright days suitable for a ride out, but I'll probably Sorn it too at the end of that month. Sleep well my beauties.

Mine will be SORN'd at the end of the month and put away in it's vac bag with the Optimate plugged in. Hopefully I'll get at least 1 more ride in during November, providing the gritters stay in their depots. If not that'll be it until March.
