Yep, I've used Harpic on the exhaust of my wife's 2007 Street 3 and the 2011 Speedy. Cleans 20,000 miles of crap of the headers in no time T
Ooooo I may head to Costco and make a bike dipping machine see if it will clean it Deffoe givngng this a go Should I wear industrial rubber gloves when applying ?
I would try it if I could find it over here. Closest I found so far is the blue bottle, they do call it "power plus" and it also warns of the Hydrochloric Acid on the label, will give it a try over the weekend and report back.
Guys, Just a word of caution before using this stuff on your Stainless pipes. Suggest that you do some research and have a look at what Hydrochloric acid does to stainless steel and the problems that may arise! I can see that this stuff has really brightened up and cleaned the exhaust pipes in the Pics if you choose to use it, then not only wash it off with water, but use white vinegar to neutralise any residual acid.
Use hydrochloric acid (10%) in work to remove lime from stainless steel pipework and other parts. I use it on alloy wheels on my car works good, got wash it off good though.
So I am an American and I looked this up on Amazon to see how much I could get it for and the cheapest of 2 listings is $74.46 American...or 56 British Pound! So.........what is going on with this stuff in particular? What is the ingredient that does this? Is it just this particular cleaner that will clean like that or would I get similar results from another brand? Just thinking out loud...lol. Thanks!
It’s the 10% HCL ( Hydrochloric Acid ) that’s the ingredient needed. Here it’s just one of many bleaches you can buy over the counter. So take a look at the bottles of bleach you can buy next time you are in a supermarket.
So I tried this today, works a charm, some advice for anyone thinking of doing it, I would rather remove the system first thereby allowing proper access and reducing the risk of spilling or spatter on unwanted areas like for example your precious paint job.
