You mean you’ve not read the ongoing saga of the Sprint Rebuild?
It’s a weighty tome in many chapters spread throughout this fine forum. Worth a read, it’s full of ups and downs. :p

Duck if you want to simplify the wiring, CRK do a digital wiring kit for use with their cafe racer kits for the 90s Trident, Trophy and Sprint models. The kit consists of two very small digital controller boxes which can be positioned one at the front and one at the rear of the bike, so they can be located close to the lights and/or controls that they work with. Just 2 cables run from the front of the bike to the rear connecting the two controller boxes.

Yes apologies I have seen your thread.

    Gonzo :grinning:

I like the original streetfighter bikes of the 80's and 90's. I liked the fact people used crashed bikes etc and got them working again. My personal idea is just about proportion. Everything has to look like it should be with the various bits. I also like the seat unit up slightly just for a mire aggressive line. Type in streetfighter motorbike in Google for inspiration.

And yes we'll hopefully have a decent chat about em

Well brain storming happened today so now me and my brother have a plan...

Exhaust cleaned up pretty well considering I don't think it was cleaned in 17 odd years...

I see you have your chief inspector checking the quality of the work. Did you get a woof of approval ?

If they are stainless steel and not chrome plated then Harpic Power Plus 10x

Loads of videos showing it done on YouTube:

Mine went from this on the left with just a wipe over using Harpic (didn't even need to leave it on for more than a minute or so) and then after washing, a very quick and light polish with Autosol, to how they appear on the right. Perhaps had I left it on longer they may have been even better.

Dave, the lights were off ebay if I remember correctly. The projects gone a slightly different route so may not be using them. I'll have a look later when I get up and see if there's a product name or anything.

As for cleaning the exhaust, I used a really really really fine sanding pad. Takes a bit more effort but doesn't score the surface. The pipes are stainless so bought them up really nice. I've still got to go over them again. To do both pipes took about 25 mins in total.

    Still thinking about paint....

    Dave,

Lights were off ebay but can't find where I had them from. Just did a basic search and picked the ones I liked.

Few pics for a guide. Weren't expensive.

Right, short update, yoke now fits, yoke manufacturer was less than interested so slightly annoying to say the least but hey.

Mudguard arrived yesterday, cheers CRK. Another quality product. Just need a bit of dry weather now. o_O

    Well progress...

My brother is a star and jumped in to give me a chuck to get things moving forward. Plus I'm glad as we've always done stuff to bikes together so it's cool doing another one.

Anyway, headers are back on with studs replaced, loads of new bolts, spacers etc arrived. Yokes been modded and now actually fits..! Front ends back on and hopefully rear end will be sorted tomo.

Be done in no time ;)

Bit of a brain storming afternoon today with my brother.

Bars are now a no go, new renthal style ordered as the clutch reservoir isn't fitting with the choke and pass light etc. Will try the more up swept bars prior to changing the reservoirs...

Koso clock has been mocked up, looks really good, speedo cables way too long tho so a quick phone call later and the sensor packs on way...

    Mudguard looks good tho

    Thanks folks appreciated.

Front end will hopefully be mocked up soon so you'll get the 1st shots.

Other body work to sort. Contemplating a jack up kit but will leave for now.

Paint works also still up in the air o_O

    Progress...

Today me and my brother had a look at the fairing panels following my daughters approval and took the power saw to them both...

Plan all along was to fit a belly pan and as they aren't available we improvised... Both panels were accident damaged purchases as I only require the lower sections... Just got final cuts and shaping to do but looking good.

Brainstorming completed and plan for rear indicators is decided so needs mocking up now.

Front end mock up will also happen shortly and in between these jobs the exhausts and rear wheel will go back on.

New bars not arrived yet so slight delay but hopefully they'll arrive Monday.

Also had a quick look at the wiring loom, tad large so needs cutting back (alot) and tidying.

Oh and the racks going back on after powder coat

Few ideas for paint now also o_O
