Whats going on with this dealer. Not anwering their phone today so popped down only to find its shut with a sign saying its changing ownership. No, so what, I hear you say. Well I my bike was on sale or return with them. I was told its been sold but had to wait 30 days for the payment due to new selling laws??? I was told by Mathew Warmsly, the salesman there that I would have my payment by the 10th. Well gues what, NO MONEY!!!
Sorry mate but that doesn't sound good. You'll get to get on your feet and track these buggers down quick before they disappear for good. Hope you've got some paperwork to prove they had the bike? Go to the local cop shop and see what they suggest. The very best of luck to you.
Supprised to see them taken over, at least it's not a bankruptcy and would be supprised if you had any problems as the new owner will want to keep excisting customers and honour their business, I would have thought they are legally obliged too. Good luck
Newcastle. Interesting to see who takes over for us up here anyway The Franchise used to be with M&S on Westgate road which is the Motorcycle Heart but Triumph won't entertain multi. franchises so it moved some way out and away from this busy Heart and that's probably the problem with to few customers, it dosen't have this passing trade. The salesman may well go back to work there so all is not lost for petrolhead He could also make enquires with M&S they may know something at least the whereabouts of the last owner.
Update: I had a meeting with David Hall, the owner on Wednesday 16th. He apologised and said I would hopefully get paid on Friday. Guess what no payment and he is not answering his mobile
Hi PH,I would be contacting the POlice and Citizens Advice straight away, it doesn't commit you to anything but you need to know more about where you stand. It'll help with any further "conversations" with the owner. How far away are you from where he is based?
My Missus and I both have Triumphs - we have now had our letters from Triumph UK confirming that they have parted ways with Triumph North East - we now have the unenviable task of getting two bikes down to York to get some warranty work carried out. Not good !
That's not good news! Does anyone know what happened to 'petrolhead' the OP, regarding the sale of his bike? Did he get his money OK?
I totally agree with biglad - contact the police and citizens advice bureau - camp out until you get signs of life there. Barry at M a S ( suzuki sales) May be able to offer advice also. Good luck mate - it must feel like theft even when you know the perpetrator.
Yes, spoke to a guy today who left his bike with them on a SOR basis. First thing he knew about his bike being sold was a letter from the DVLA telling him he was not longer the registered keeper
