Rode home in the dark last week on my 94 Steamer and it was exciting because the lights were useless. Anyone recommend a modern bulb (LED??) which would improve things or do the old tungsten bulbs reduce in intensity over time so just replacing them should help ? Any, suggestions welcomed

Assuming you have H4's fitted as standard something like Osram Night breakers would give a big improvement. I used those successfully until I scored a pair of led bulbs on fleabay for about a fiver. Those were a massive improvement. They are still for sale on ebay now at about £70 a pair. But you do need space in the holder to accommodate the little ballast thingy. Just managed to squeeze the lot in a tiger 800 headlamp pod.
