I have finally finished the rebuild of a 1961 Tiger Cub, it has taken almost 3 years but has been worthwhile, if I sell it now I won't make a profit but I don't think you ever do on a rebuild.

A few photos attached of before and after!
I like to rebuild bikes as a hobby and not as a profit making exercise, it beats spending my money down the pub!!

Sure thing! Ebay, lockdown and itchy fingers are a BAD combination, I think the next one will be back to something Japanese

I passed my test on a Cub in 1968. Triumph has been my favourite marque ever since. :) Looks like you have made a really nice job of yours, good work!

I really don’t follow classic bike prices, what sort of money does a top notch Cub fetch these days?

Thought it was, I guess a Mikuni is a preferred mod, what ignition system is the Cub running.
Anything must be better than the old Amal Monobloc

I remember, I had a TC as my first bike on the road in 1966 and what with trying to keep up with my mates on their Jap bikes it didn’t take long for it to go pop.
Unfortunately it loss any go forward motion in the middle of Chester one Friday night :(

That said I’d probably have another for nostalgia.

I converted it to 12v and I'm running Boyer electronic ignition with a power box so no battery I figured that the ignition system needed all the help it can get. I've had enough of trying to get points and condensers set right with 60 years wear in them!

That's a difficult one what they are advertised for and what they actually sell for are 2 different things. They are advertised at anything between £3,000 and £5,000 but probably the market is nearer £2,500, unless it's exceptional.
