What’s the thinking on screens. The Thruxton is new to me, having ridden a 675 Daytona for the last few years, I was surprised by the lack of wind buffeting, and thought it would be much more, but wondered if a fly screen would make any difference and I’m not sure I like the look.
Also how do you maintain brushed alli? Chuz yall

Hate them! Anything I've had with a screen just makes a horrible rumbling noise round your head. Little fly screens don't cause this problem but I never noticed any real difference with them. As for the alloy, wipe it down with motorex moto protect, brilliant stuff!

Hmmm, as it happens I have for disposal a clear DART screen I had on my 2016 Thruxton R. I felt it made a noticable difference to wind buffeting and no difference in wind noise or if any a slight reduction. Being a small screen it suited the bike not detracting from its cafe racer appearance.

I have a 2019 Thruxton R and a small screen. It does not provide any protection, but for me tidy’s up the front end. Here it is along side my mates that does not have screen for comparison.

    Hi,

the screen is 215mm long, I actually think it is a genuine Triumph one. Certainly it has the Triumph logo embossed at the base. Coming to think of it the Dart one I bought was for the R Nine T I had at the same time. I think I bought it from WorldofTriumph. How does £45 delivered sound ? Thats half price plus postage. It is like new and comes with the brackets.

that's a good read, go big or small seems to make sense, but then again some screens look really naff
Going to have a go at making my own, another daft project that'll waste lots of time and look sh1t, but hey ho
