We "got lost" in the Lincoln National Forest this weekend -no heat and no cell service! It was awesome.
the smile on that lad's face says a lot, good luck to him, when you consider how many Barstewards there are in this life there is no justice is there only the innocent suffer
B-1B -also known as the "Bone". I worked them from 1991 to 1998. Real big impressive pieces of shit. Edit: On closer look, it could be the A model. I'm getting old.
Yep. The FMC rate for the Bone is not impressive -and any numbers you can find are inflated, trust me on that. It is also VERY expensive to fly and maintain -the thing is a flying fuel tank holding about 220,000 pounds of fuel that it drinks like (apparently) dilli does JD, and pisses it out too! Apparently the BUFF was always more reliable certainly less expensive to operate. I never worked that one, though.
These kids are definitely positively awesome! https://www.washingtonpost.com/nati...mail&utm_source=newsletter&wpisrc=nl_optimist
I spent some time at Barksdale AFB Louisiana Home of the Buff and 8th AirForce museum, treated right those things could be well on their way to 100 the original first flight was 1952 and entered service 1955 "THAT" is some achievement .
Another great story from a daily e-mail from the Washington Post that I just subscribed to called "The Optimist". So far this seems to be a much better way to start the day than the usual news! Check out this 103-year old wild woman! https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...mail&utm_source=newsletter&wpisrc=nl_optimist
We had a squadron here in town, they would rattle my house windows every time they took off 15 miles away.
And setting off car alarms is their specialty. Haha Like I said, impressive. POS, but impressive. We'd launch four on a two-ship mission so the two that were least broke could continue and the other two would RTS for repairs.
