I uncovered this chap the other day whilst machining a site, he was a bit sluggish as he would have been hibernating, but otherwise he seemed ok and I carefully returned him to the long grass and hopefully he was fine
About 15 miles south of where Mr. Sandi and I live is a beautiful Spanish mission called San Xavier del Bac aka "The White Dove of the Desert". I've ridden my bicycle and motorcycles past this mission numerous times over the years. There was an article in our local paper this past Sunday highlighting a restoration project that is underway. Thought you guys would enjoy these photos and a bit of history about one of our old buildings here in the U.S. Old in U.S. years anyway! When I'm healed up and back on my motorcycles I'll ride out there and post some photos that I take. These pics are from The Arizona Daily Star. Info from Wikipedia and Google.
Awesome place Sandi rode their a few times, I hear they are digging up a load of first Nation historical sites to build the Trump wall I bet they never informed them before they started a lot of history in your part of the states just not off the white man
Yes @Don the Don. There's a ton of history in Arizona and, as you said, not just the white mans. I would bet one of my motorcycles that they were never informed prior to digging. We would have heard all about it in the news. There are all sorts of unintended negative consequences of that Trump wall along the Arizona--Mexico border. No one person that I know--conservative or liberal--here in Tucson wants that thing. And we live right here, an hour from Mexico.
How about a moat filled with crocodiles, Ducky?? You could always save the taxpayers some money and just put it around your house.
