Now I know this is probably sod all to most of you, but I was so chuffed to see this. In my 52 years on this planet, I have seen bioluminescence in various places around the globe... but never on my home turf. I was walking in Grizedale forest tonight, I like to walk in the dark and let my eyes adjust, about a mile into it I noticed a glow on the ground. On investigation, it was a rotting piece of wood. I tried my hardest to get a photo of the glow, but this is the best I could do on my phone in the dark. I’ve had to over expose the picture once I got home to make the glow visible... but it nowhere near shows how beautiful it was, you could see the wood fibres and everything. Anyway, I took a photo of it with some light on it... a boring, bog standard bit of rotting wood on the forest floor that everyone will have ignored. So I’m sorry if it’s boring to you, but it was positively awesome to me!
Awesome yes. Positive? Not so sure about that.... Think about all the positive awesomeness we could have created, instead of chasing around in those things trying to scare each other!
