This water may look more brown than awesome. But when you live in the desert in the midst of a 10-year drought, ANY water in the Rillito River is positively awesome to us. I took this photo yesterday morning after we'd had a big monsoon the night before. We are SO grateful for the rain!
The Devils Blood. Iron oxide from the old mine waste reacting with limestone from the cliffs at Seaham, about 3 miles from my home, some of the scenes from Alien were filmed here, it's known as the blast beach by us local yokels.
Thanks for the recommendation, Adie! We'll give it a watch. I'm not keen on heights...but I'm pretty brave if I'm watching someone else high up while I'm sitting on the couch.
Mr. Sandi and I were meandering around a nice Tucson indoor/outdoor mall recently while we enjoyed a gelato. I saw these art "sculptures" in a shop window and thought they were fun and clever. I think these are what is called repurposed or recycled art. This was my favorite. Of course because it's two wheels! Love the waffle iron face. I would have checked out the prices and taken a closer look but the shop was already closed up for the day.
Or if it’s America then you could roll out the old joke about American beer being like sex in a canoe, f&cking close to water, literally
Eeek! I like them but not enough to make a purchase at those prices. Just think of all the motorcycle parts or gear or trips money could buy!
@Adie P Mr. Sandi and I took your recommendation, Adie, and watched Free Solo this evening. It was all you described it as and even more. It seems beyond imagination that a human being could accomplish such a feat. I also thoroughly enjoyed watching the YouTube video on how Free Solo was filmed after seeing the movie. What a production! An evening VERY well spent. Thanks, Adie!
