Running discos and day trips to manipulate the young boys naive cultural development ..Like training dogs to fight on command.Just leave them alone. Changes. And these children that you spit on As they try to change their worlds Are immune to your consultations They're quite aware of what they're going through David Bowie.
All the people stand and stare Just because I’ve got no hair I’m a SKINHEAD Doctor Martins Leather laces Levi staypress Clip on braces We are the boys That’ll smash your faces We are SKINHEADS I’m not a skinhead really I’m just a baldy Bastid
I watched it too, was very interesting. Reminded me that once I had been to a Punk - Oi band crossover gig. I'm not sure who thought a venue full of punks and skinheads was going to go well. That got pretty hairy, with even a police inspector escorted through the crowd up on stage to address the audience. It didnt help, we left when the Sieg Heils actually turned into broken chair wielding violence.
Cheers i'll have a look ,don't have much of that kind of music in my collection apart from maybe the popular ones.
Interesting watch that. I grew up listening to Two Tone so some of that was a happy trip down memory lane. As with so many things it seems you will always get an element hijacking or twisting things which ends up changing and sometimes ruining it for everyone else, the media make assumptions and the public at large only see a Daily Mail stereotype. Such a shame. Oh, if you see Rudi, tell him he's got a message.
i was brought up in fear of the skinheads (although they left me alone) my school was full of them. They were made famous by the Sun newspaper And of course the Angela Rippons bum, OI Band. (nice legs shame about the face) . Tilbury Skins (Trojan) were Dangerous out. West ham Football club and Millwall was their fighting grounds.
I'm shirking from home today (Terry from the RAC is outside replacing my car's battery at the moment) so I've got the company of some Two-Tone and SKA Anthems playlists on Spotify. Nice.
I had a peek at his progress every now and then from the upstairs window. Bit ham fisted and resorted to a prybar to get the airbox out (?) To get a bit more space when hoiking the old battery out, although I can't see why he'd need to. Had a good look round the engine bay after he'd gone and it serms all the clips are still in one piece, thankfully. He was clearly not up on Fords as he had to call someone to find out how to rest the keyfob... At least it was him out in the rain and not me, he plugged in the diagnostic kit first to check the charging circuit and for unexpected drain to make sure it really was the battery, so for that he was a very nice man (yes I do remember those ads). Back to the office for me tomorrow where I get to carry on my musical trip down memory lane, albeit through headphones.
