Hopefully the engine will be a complete redesign from the current 25 year old unit and it won't have issues with the gearbox (q/shift autoblipper).
the press talks about 2020-2021... Nowadays I think I will wait to march 26th to see what is going to announce Triumph. https://www.soymotero.net/nueva-triumph-speed-triple-1160-la-vuelta-de-la-esquina
Talks about a new "era" could Triumph be presenting the first electric bike? And all these talks about having to increase engine size due to new emission rules, not sure i get why really. Does a bigger engine produce less CO2? And when are these new emission rules being brought in? Thought it was Euro5 and that the 2020 version passed that. Or is it more a case that they have reached the maximum what's possible to squeeze out of the current 1050 engine? I know we are all speculating, and I don't mind a Speed Triple that's closer to the Tuono and S100R in power, just curious of the other reasons and rumors that i've heard.
I had a good chat to the sales guy and owner at the dealership I've known and used for a long time. Apparently it's going to be a 1200 with around 180hp, some dealers have been shown the pictures. The expectation is that it's going to be shown at the NEC in November. I'd guess there are a lot of twichy businesses around at the moment and the current financial situation "could" stop play. I suppose we'll see.
WOW, if it is getting that much of a boost in performance, I am happy to wait as long as the NEC gets it. I've told my local dealership to bill me for a deposit as soon as whatever it is is announced. I think the 1050 is ace, but am not parting with cash unless it is for the latest model. I'd even go for a TFC if it is affordable!

The dealer has repeated twice now, even said they are trying to wring as much power out of the engine as possible. I'm not sure if this is something new or an evolution of the current unit. I'd guess they want this to be competitive and want the hooligan moniker back!
WIll be great if it still has a load of mid range torque from 1200cc I hope they dont go for top end power and spoil a great road bike !
A bit OT: but looking the spanish link just makes me realise how flippin beautiful the current Speed Triple is.
Was something about the 900 Tiger in some email spam. Looks like I'll be going Italian to replace the 765R then once this C19 problem is resolved I guess
My dealer says it's due later this year with 180 bhp. Expected info August 20 ,. Ooohh very interested ..
