Yeah I saw the pillion seat thing. Weight savings probably. I'm getting cold feet on my pre-order, this delay is more than just shipping imho. End of January, they claimed availability end of February. At that point, they would have had line of sight to shipping crated bikes. Either something was found and is getting a last minute fix with minimal bake, or they fudged about availability. I might bail and wait a year.
I ordered mine on 8th February and was quoted a delivery of early April here in the U.K. with dealers getting demo bikes mid March, so over here they were never claiming end of February delivery. I don’t know whether dealers have their demo bikes yet as everything has been in Covid lockdown and should reopen 12th April. I’ll email my dealer this week to see if everything is on schedule!
Well spotted. I do normally have a manual fetish but you take it one step further @Zaico :-D Good info tho, Would be nice to have a some space to stick a back of spare underwear, toothbrush and disclock.
I think the February date is coming from the reveal video: Edit: media link isn't working properly with timestamps: youtube.com/watch?v=avWJAmUb4As&t=970s
I see recommended fuel is now 95 RON, up from 91. With a 15% lower 6th gear and having to use premium fuel, the new bike will be more expensive to operate. I have to use highways (dual carriageway) for 1-2 hours to get to the places I ride, and that’s going to cost quite a bit more with the new bike. That’s too bad.
No sign of mine yet and the dealer confirmed they haven’t received their demo bike yet. I should have ordered it from Tokyo.
Without a doubt, Triumph has taken off the gloves, and clarified what they intended the Speed Triple to be. And it's not for 2 hours of linear freeway cruising, heh.
Couple of Japanese videos: First one is a pretty thorough overview of the bike and the second is a motovlog style video. Edit: Oops seems like 5teveb already posted the second one in the other thread while I had this one open watching the video.
You can turn on English translations of the Japanese subtitles on YouTube although it doesn’t work very well! Hopefully some proper English reviews will start to appear shortly.
Wow, every single start from a dead stop was cut out of that 16 minute video. From 12:50 to 13:50 there is a bit of engine noise recorded.
Well, mine was due to arrive early April. I’m now told hopefully first week of May. The dealer doesn’t have a demo bike yet.
