    I ordered some at the weekend. I'd be very interested in your view of the sound vs standard pipes with and without the baffles.

    At the moment they sound like standard pipes, bit disappointing tbh, thought they'd sound slightly louder. Baffles need to come out........quick.

    hmmm....... I must admit to being disappointed with the sound of the V&H Euro and therefore thought that the 'Off Road' spec would naturally be louder.
    That'll teach me to assume and I hope that baffle removal results in reasonable (but not too loud!) noise output.

    Dealer admitted to not setting the LED activation, infact knew nothing about it until I suggested what needed to be done then he sent me the instructions this afternoon, a bit late now....

    I will tackle the baffles at the weekend but my tool cabinet consists of a screwdriver so it might be off to the dealers...

    That's the baffles out - sound is - errrr nice rather than booming loud but I'm not revving the arse off it as the bikes only done 15 miles..will be out at the weekend though. I've no idea how to upload a video link so hers a pic with the baffles on the tyre..

    Good news..............just need to wait for mine to arrive.
    How big a job was it to grind the weld off?

    I used a dremel ( cheap copy ) to grind down the tiny blob of weld. You don't need to grind down completely. There's a little piece of metal between the two ends of the circlip which you can pull out once you've heated up the weld with the dremel.

    I bought some cheap circlip pliers off eBay to pull out the circlip, takes a bit of effort but comes out easy enough...

    The exhausts look so much better without the baffles in...

    Can't wait to get out at the weekend..

    One thing though the exhausts scratch very easily so I would put some masking tape or something round the end just in case you slip with the pliers or similar...

    Mine look like that and I've not removed the baffle, guess the EU one's have different internals. Original Triumph on left with V & H on right.

    back in the day you could "modify" FZR600 stock exhausts by bashing a pipe down internally and knocking the baffle loose, before removing it :)
    wonder if the o.e can be tweaked similarly, anyone brave enough to have a go on theirs after they are removed? :)

    On my w800, I used a 32mm holesaw down inside, pulled it with chakka deemus and pliers

    Hi,
    Very confused newby to the forum.
    I would like to remove baffles from my Thruxton 1200 R, I have stock pipes plus the VH european pipes.
    VH tell me that they can’t be removed.........if any one can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated.

    Too late now but the right direction was to buy the US spec V&H where the baffles can be easily removed.

    Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

    I believe people have been able to open pipes with large hole saws if you do some searching.
