I'm of an age to remember Thalidomide but am in no way an anti vaxxer. I had to fill in questionaires for twenty years as one of the first to get the measles vacccine. Being blunt, despite my advanced age I've a pretty robust constitution so don't consider myself 'at risk'. My precautions for not falling foul of this pandemic are based on the fact that I'm a primary carer, not for personal health reasons. I'll be happy to take the shot. In six months once somebody else has beta'd it for me.
Also worth remembering none of these vaccines is as effective as natural immunity that many (most?) of us now have.
One airline has already stated its intention to only allow vaccinated customers to take international flights and no doubt others will follow suit. I also suspect that individual countries may also require proof of having had the vaccine prior to entry, hopefully the UK will. I was wondering if those who receive a vaccine will also receive some form of certification, digital or otherwise that can be used to provide proof when required.
But think about it. You have survived (one of the 99.5+%) and they STILL want to inoculate you FFS? Meanwhile Quantas is facing boycotts. Excellent!
You don’t actually know that. You may be one of the 30+% with prior immunity to other Coronavirus’. I strongly suspect I am given those around me who have been infected. T cells...
Almost certainly will get a certificate, a bit like the Yellow Fever card needed for many Countries currently
Actually it isn’t...... All we need to know is that there are too few people in the population to keep the epidemic in being. We don’t vaccinate for a whole heap of things ‘just in case’. If 80% are immune the remaining 20% are safe. The way this one is going the vaccines will arrive after herd immunity has been achieved, The falling numbers tell us exactly that. It is NOT what the Government and pharmaceuticals would have you believe but a stack of real immunologists would agree. The reason we didn’t have an off the shelf Coronavirus vaccine is because it was never cost effective enough to produce one safely and in time. And now suddenly it is?
