£135 for genuine Triumph engine sliders, picked them up today and fitted them to my Speed Triple R '16 myself Tourqued up the engine bolts to 80nm with a few drops of blue thread lock They look fantastic asthetically, however, they are not as good quality as I was hoping for, the actual slider is very light and hollow, it looks solid in the picture but is is a hollow shell that bolts to the holder that is attached with the engine bolt I thought they would be a heavy solid rubber/plastic unit similar to the R&G sliders, but they are not. In the event of a slide I have to say I do not thing they would last long In the event of a standing drop then yes they would work. If you are looking at purchasing these, ask to look and handle them first before paying.
I think that realy most of these "sliders" would not stand up to a slide and if you did slide a scuffed fairing or casing cover would be the least of our worries. I fitted these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRIUMPH-SPRINT-GT-1050-2010-on-MGS-Performance-crash-protectors-bobbins-/321870751725?fits=UKM_Make:Triumph|UKM_Model:Sprint|UKM_CCM:1050|UKM_Submodel:GT|Year:2010&hash=item4af0fde7ed:g:c2wAAOSwWxNYwt~e cheap and would stop scuffs and scrapes if I dropped it.
I fitted my MGS upper crash bungs yesterday. Very pleased with them. U feel they would help protect the bike if I dropped it.
