Where is it? I have the Haynes manual and the description and picture of where it is very vague.

Just follow the wires from the starter motor and you will locate it.

I'll have another try tomorrow and see if I can follow the cables. When I find I'll report back for anyone else who needs to know.

    Found it!

It is fixed to the RHS frame tube underneath the main wiring loom as it runs from under the airbox towards the ABS module.

I have the infamous "wont start issue." So have cleaned the starter, kill and clutch switch. Cleaned and checked the earths in the starter motor. Someone else said check the starter solenoid. Which was why I was looking for it. The 2 wires that go into the top of the solenoid were looses and mucky. So cleaned them up and regreased.

    Don't forget the side-stand switch. :)
(There's also a relay that feeds the solenoid)

Side stand switch doesn't stop the bike from starting, unless it is in gear also. Will have a check of the relay, may buy another one and swap if it does it again.

The bike starts as it should. The problem I have is the issue is very intermittent. So time will tell if I have fixed it or not.

Ah, didn't realise, intermittent's are a bugger to track down.
Have you checked your battery is in tiptop condition, you may know that the ecu is designed to disable starting on a weak battery. I replaced mine last year as I was getting very occasional non starts (often seemed to be at a certain petrol station - still not sure if there was any relevance). I bought Motobatt AGM and would recommend, not had any problems since.

Fitted a new battery this month. The one on it was the original when the bike was new, so 6 years old.

Mine is a 94R also so must be about the same age (65 plate), 6 yrs must be about the limit. SWMBO's Street Triple must be imminent.
