One of the little details I love about ktm.... they print every torque value for every nut and bolt in the owners manual!
Hello all, 2 weeks ago, I ordered the new grey speed RS to replace my speed rs 2020 with a few changes (lightech rearsets, abm clipons,...) Yesterday my french dealer annonced me that deliveries are posponed to end of april . Normally they will have their test bike on april 15th. Do you have the same delay in UK or in other countries ?
I have one on order in the UK, scheduled for early April delivery (10th April according to the order form). I’ve not heard anything from my dealer about delays, so I’m hoping not.
Has anyone seen any reviews/roadtest of the new 1200 rs yet? When is it officially making it out to the customers?
Not just the stuck Ever Given ship, but also every other ship that sat around waiting or went the long way. It would be nice if the bike would show up by end of April, but I'm thinking it could easily be May-June with the global shipping situation.
so update from edinburgh triumph - delivery delayed from week of 12 April to week of 19 th with probable customer handover 1 May...fekn suez canal
I'm in the US., Colorado, so I'm sure totally different situation, but I was told on the second of March, "its coming next week" and today, 4 weeks later I hear, "I have no timeline, I will let you know..." My snow is melting, I am ready to play! I did just see on Instagram that they landed in Toronto Canada as of today!
pretty crap vid but does give idea of riders view...bike being driven slowly round Japanese city to painful elevator music...if you listen hard you can just about hear the engine noise which sounds pretty good (albeit at low revs!)
Hey that video shows 3rd gear 7K at 79 mph. That means 6th is more like just over 175 mph, so it's similar to Tuono, and still sane rpms on the freeway like the 1050. (And that something is off with the numbers in the owner's manual ... again ...)
It has amazing power and performance, but I kind of prefer the look of the 2020 rs... If you put the new headlights on the 2020, I think it would look amazing.
I have a black 2019 RS and also think it’s a better looking bike. Looks more premium to me when you compare the frame and other parts, but I will do a side by side comparison once they arrive. Was out today carving up some canyon roads, man the RS is an amazing bike. The front end is soooo good. Coming out of corners in 3rd with the front end lifting off the ground at speeds way beyond the speed limits, man I’m lucky to live where I live. I’m certainly not wanting for more power. This thing is a beast with the RPMs up over eight grand. I can’t imagine what the new bike would be like.
I agree 100%. The 2018-20 rs looks much more premium, with all the carbon bits, and I feel the undertail exhaust gives it some character. Although I get why they got rid of it with euro 5 regulations. Now it just looks like a bigger street triple. I had a deposit on a 2021 in black, and cancelled my order for fear of not getting one anytime soon. I picked up a 2019 rs in white with 3000kms and saved myself $7000 over a new one. Where do you live Steve? I'm in Peterborough, ON.
I think that was a smart move Sean, as the new bike isn’t $7000 more of a bike. Most people would never even get to use the added hp at the top end, and torque is pretty much identical. In fact, the 2018-20 model has full torque of 86 lbft at 7150 rpm’s, where the new RS makes full torque of 91 lbft at 9000 rpm’s. Probably due to the longer stroke that the 2018-20 model has. So the older model may even pull a little stronger in the low to mid rpm’s. I like the look of the under seat exhaust better as well. I also get why they use the low slung exhaust, but it’s not for me. I removed the restrictive discs as well as the baffles in the mufflers, and it sounds glorious now. The dual under seat cans gives the bike character and it’s own look, otherwise it just looks like the street triple. I live on Vancouver Island Sean. Some Hwy miles (about 1 hour) are required to get to the canyon rides, but worth it, as they are remote areas where you can ride as fast as you like with little worry of the police. How is Peterborough for riding?
