Don't like the idea to be honest, I'm a regular user of the rear brake but I think I'm in the minority. Would rather control it as and when I want to. Are they not a nightmare to bleed/change fluid too?
So, the new one produces 125 nm of torque at 9000 rpm. The old one produces 117 nm at 7150 rpm. It’s quite likely that at 7150 rpm the new one will be producing less torque than the old one.....Progress? Will have to see the graphs to prove it.
Yep...mine was with LV too. I posted up details at the time, which must have generated a nice run of business for them. Obviously they took this into account at my next renewal (I wish)
You did not have gearbox problems, so what exactly will you gain by going from 1050 to 1200, besides more power above 7000, which is seldom necessary or possible on the roads?
that's the worst approach get what you actually want I got new 2020 RS knowing that it is being discontinued and the new is coming, just because I wanted underseat-pipe-1050RS since 2018 release.
Really nothing that tangible or concrete, Snusmumrik. Those trading thoughts of mine are not logical.
Thanks to Triumph I got all excited about the new speed, had thoughts about trading the superduke. Now I'm hankering to trade for the new superduke this could get expensive!
Might? I WILL test ride one, back to back with SuperDuke 1290R (same dealership). That will be a hoot. Already can't wait! But not switching from my relic 2020 1050RS.
IMHO. Could be related to torque, increase a bit backpressure at lower RPMs to get more torque, open up the valve at higher RPMs to get more power. Maybe also related to noise regulation.
Last time I was in Stockholm I saw RSV4 and I think S1000RR (or maybe it was GSXR1000). SO DAMN LOUD. There is no noise regulation in Sweden? Of course, I am based in Switzerland where we have way more motorbikes, way more sportsbikes going around (we have mountain passes and no gravel on the road after the winter, unlike Sweden), so we have very strict regulations.
Where I am at, taking 1050RS with heated grips and quickshifter, it was basically same price as the new 1200RS with heated grips (qs is stock).
Right, only the one pipe has an exup valve on the new 1160. I'm sure it's 3 to the cat, then 2 to the exhaust, which is kind of the obvious best design post-cat for integrating a partial exup. Or I mean, it makes no sense to run 3 pipes cat to exhaust, for what benefit, just weighs more, smaller pipes.
That will be a fun day! Luckily my dealer is also Triumph, KTM, Kawasaki shall we compare notes some day
Similar to what I have on my CBR954RR - 4 into cat into 2 into can. There is an exhaust valve that opens at 3000 partially and at 7000 fully. The partial opening is very noticeable, the bike becomes noticeably livelier, like if a small turbocharger comes on boost, or, being Honda:
I may come to the test ride with my GSXR1000R. It has more zing and more purposeful acceleration, unlike 1050RS which pulls like a loco(motive), strong but too linear. Then I can be testing Gixxer, Speedy and DukeR back to back.
