Hey team, you thoughts on my sprakplug condition... lean or just right ? 2018 t120 with x-pipe, aftermarket mufflers + K&N air filter. If on the lean side, thinking of adding a booster plug to my farkles how say you experts ?
That looks normal to me, modern engines are designed to run very lean compared to years ago when carbs were the norm and not all the electronically managed jiggery pokery. I checked the plugs on my Z at 20k and they looked hardly used.
I shall share a n important piece of information.... The workshop manual says the ECM re-learns (Engine adaption) & air/fuel etc adjusts automatically for additions (de-cat/x-pipe, after market mufflers + K&N air filter) so happy days.. My sparkplug is a prime example of what sparkplugs should look like.
Only within certain parameters. I've fitted a "fuel booster" plug to my standard Street Scrambler. I did this to see if it would cure an intermittent hot engine stall when pulling away from idle and it has.
This is good to know... I tried a 'Booster plug' prior to adding a K&N air filter yesterday (to try & fix a snatchy low speed throttle) but didn't make any difference ... funny enough.. the K&N air filter did. p.s. I don't have any stalling probs
