    Sorry, but it's quite simple. Maintain the bike properly. Caliper issue did not raise its ugly head overnight. Lights, tyres, brakes, basic checks prior to getting on bike before every trip. If these checks were carried out you would have noticed the uneven brake pad wear ages ago. This would have given you time prior to the Mot to rectify faults, instead of letting the Stealer take your money. Fingers well & truly burnt on this occasion. Agree with DD, a basic introduction into bike maintenance would be of benefit

    Wow, sometimes I don't realise how lucky am. A bill that size would kill me!

    Mind you, I only paid £550 & £700 for my Trophys.....and the rest was time.
    With help from people on this forum, and time, most things can be sorted.

    I suggest from now on, try and do as much as you can yourself...find somebody local to help if you can...if your near Scouseland I'll help.
