If it needed fixing then it needed fixing As others have said it ain’t gonna be cheap with a franchised dealer (stealer)
Hi Billy, sorry to hear you are having some problems with your Bonny - now is the time to start collecting some tools so you can do most of the work yourself. It'll feel great when you get some experience under your belt. If you need a hand or a "how to........" just message me OK ?
Nevermind the insurance. it's irrelevant now. The guy came yesterday, I could swear my brake discs were new, i don't think they even were that clean when i got the bike.... Basically, the calliper didn't had but 2 problems but whatever. It's paid, it's fixed. Topic closed. Next time I need an how to, I know where to go guys. thanks for all your feedback and help.
Yep, just post on here first mate. You'll get a lot of b*llox and the thread will run into 18 pages but the answer will be there somewhere and we're always willing to help.
I'd have to agree with most of the guy's here, these problems seem like a lack of maintainance. I've always felt like a good mechanic is like a good doctor, both being hard to find.Keep looking my friend because they are out there, you just have to keep looking! Good luck in the future. and always ride safe!
I always ride safe. very safe. (Yes ! I have been seen with an open face, Dan, shut up... I just love it ! ) Whether it's kevlar leggins, MC boots, MC gloves, or fully D3O armoured thick leather jacket, I don't joke with this. But it also goes for my bike. Which is why I send my bike to Triumph after a long winter outside. If something "feels wrong" during the year, I'll send it to Bill The Biker or some like that, call Dan, or of yous... But I ride as safe as I can, and I don't mind to pay big bucks to be told I'm good to go. It might be naive, but if it makes me feel better... What's the harm.... I would have never realised my calliper was f'ed, and I would not have the skill knowledge or confidence in fixing it. same goes for my riding. I am a slow rider, because as much as I love biking, my dead biker cousin will always be dead. so confidence grows very slow for me. I often chicken out to challenges and risks, so send you taunts, your jokes and you happy mockery about my skill with a wrench or behind bars, because I will laugh about all that with you for a very long time ! (Mic Drop, Beer down, I'm paying the first round ).
I'm sorry if I offended you because that was not my intention! There is certainly nothing wrong with using a mechanic instead of doing it yourself. and as far as my ride safe comment, I tell everyone just that because I hope they will. Go out and have a great day bro!
hahahaha You don't know me pal. I'm never angry nor offended ! I'm sorry if I made you feel that way. But I'm a bit over ocused on riding safe and I'm the first one to laugh about myself. I'm sorry if my comment didn't convey my agreement with you and my amusement. I'm not only bad at mechanics... I'm lazy as fuck ! I'm just a big french Chicken ! (oh and somehow when I express myself I'm often misunderstood, probably because english is not my mother tongue and I phrase oddly )
One of the joys of Glasgow is the quality of spoken English, full of idiom and allusion, frequently questioning a fellow conversationalist’s antecedents and often delivered with a vigorous nod of the head........
Its all one big learning curve Sam with no rules, some don't make it to the end but many do, we've all been there at one time. Enjoy the ride
