Hi all I’ve spent years riding various sport/hooligan bikes, and now is my first time looking at something more “safe”, as we just welcomed our first baby and I wish to stay alive longer perhaps. I’m looking at some 2010 era Bonnevilles, really dig the spoke wheels and customisability. There is only ONE thing that annoys me. The rear 130 tire looks like a bicycle tire on pictures, and it’s really putting me off. There has been questions on forums on similar topics but me as a triumph rookie I can’t understand the final verdict. Can you put a 150 width tire on the stock spoke rim? That is bare minimum width where I don’t feel looking like “too big of a guy” on the bike. I’m not interested in purchasing new wheels and/or putting alot of effort into making the tire fit. Also I don’t care if it affects the handling in a small way, as this would be the “work-home-work” bike at most. I’m sorry in advance if this is a silly question. Thanks ahead.
Welcome to the family. And no it's not silly at all. I have the 2010 Bonnie with the 130 tyre which I think is all right. But looking at the space there either side of the wheel I think a 150 would fit. Joe
