What a terrific ride report, @Wessa! Looks like you, @andypandy, and @Schuey had a wonderful time. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us in words and images. I'm glad that when you did get wet it was typically when you were pretty close to your final days' destination with warmth and sustenance (and JD) waiting for you. You boys are also a good example of how it pays to be adaptable when the circumstances warrant it--and that good things can come out of that attitude. Like that National Museum of Flight your toured as an alternative to your original plan. Good stuff!!
Great write-up guys, I really enjoyed that. It makes me even more eager to set off to the Alps again in three weeks time.
Nice one guys, glad you had a great time, i'm off down the Borders at the weekend for a few days with the Mrs, theres a few roads i'd like to take her on, Queens Way, Dalveen and Mennock passes to name a few
If you are doing any riding on the other side of the M74 can i suggest (ok , highly recommend!) taking the unclassified road just out of Langholm and over the hills to Newcastleton then up to Bonchester bridge ("Hizzy's playground.) Great views and roads. We were up in the clouds on Sunday unfortunately, hopefully you get something better.
" Mind it required regular stops to rest my a@se, but that made for interesting conversations with Jas and Andy. " Your arse made interesting conversations with Jas and Andy?
Cheers,i've done those roads and i agree they are great! Don't do them often enough though as it's always a hassle going down through the central belt, If i didn't have great roads where i am i would make the trek down more often
I’ve got that covered, I’ve a red one and a white one…. Whilst out and about yesterday think I saw AndyC1’s car….
But in response to the original thread, Wessa and the boys were so lucky with the weather. I am up in Scotland on the NC 500 in September. Bet I don’t get that lucky. But as I’m in the car …..( anti midge and anti rain protection…) …it won’t be the end of the world if we do get a bit of Scottish weather…
