Taxed our Bonneville on Thursday, been sorned since end of September. Took it out yesterday for a ride. Had a new rear tyre and brake pads fitted whilst off the road and I intentionally took it easy, I'm no speedster anyway. Stalled when pulling away from home. Left indicator on due to forgetting to cancel it, ..... twice Stalled again when parking for a break. What a pigs ear of a ride out. Forgetting to cancel the indicators was particularly worrying, for obvious reasons. There is a clear message to all part time leisure riders like myself here, take care, take it steady and think very carefully about what you're doing. I'm off out for a second stab at it today and hoping for a much improved , and safer performance.. It was bloody good to be back out on the bike though!
Probably would have been but for the vacuum bag storage, almost certainly not a true vacuum but it does a great job, the bike comes out exactly as it goes in, I swear by it!
Done 300miles over Lockdown-Winter on mine (purchased in October) in some extremly fresh Weathers!!! Starting to enjoy it a bit more now! I worked for Swift Despatch years and years ago... It WAS cold in those days! Roll on Global Warming.
I have a couple of those vacsac's and can confirm and agree that they are brilliant. My bikes came out after the winter in the same immaculate condition that they went in. Anybody storing their bike over the winter should have a look at these. They are less than £50 and keep your bike in great condition....
I was exactly the same.Taxed on Thursday after a winter on SORN. Took the tiger out for first ride of the season and I was all over the place.Rusty to say the least terrible lines potholes everywhere (think I managed to hit every one !) Badly patched roads.God I was bad but that’s only day one and I’m sure I will take it easy and get back into the swing of things soon,I’ve got six months to get it right before winter !!
