Finished off fitting pistons n barrels, popped engine in the frame and fitted rear subframe n swing arm.
Making a big effort as i have let it slide for far too long now doing other jobs and generally slacking and i want to do my 66 next and put it on the road.
A few hours work the forks have been rebuilt with new bushes, seals etc and the old battered headlight is now back on after repairing the dents and rechroming sorted the wiring and fitted new loom.
Looking just like the weather forecast for tomorrow, fantastic !!! Knocking a few dents out of the battered old headlight shell, reminds me of Sam Lovegrove when he acquired a beaten up old Brough headlight shell, it was transformed into perfection, sadly only a small part of his work on the transformation was featured, preference being given to other, far less interesting material. Thanks for the updates Darkman, I've said it before, but I get a real buzz from watching your work unfold, it's superb and of the highest order.
Bit more progres, fitted bars and levers and rebuilt hubs with new bearings so i can rebuild the wheels with the newly chromed original Dunlop rims.
Wheels built today as Tig popped round to hang the rims with me, a great mate and real fast, i will fit the tyres and get them on the bike this week
Little bit more work done in the last few mornings, cyl head rebuild along with rocker boxes, tyres fitted, head back on engine with new gaskets and pushrod seals and new old stock manifolds fitted as previous owner had fitted a single carb.
Another few hours spent on fitting front brake plate and chrome drum finisher, oil tank and tool box along with the correct twin carbs as it had been fitted with a single carb
All looking very lovely , I noticed the metal cam feed pipe bends under the rear frame I am hoping this is is just particular to this model as on my 120 I have it over the top before dropping to the tank is that right ?
Loads more done this week, finished off engine and fitting electronic ignition, finished off gearbox build, finished off back wheel and fittings, fitted chain and its guard, started with breather pipes, started lining up the exhausts, oils in engine n box n forks and loads more little bits going to be touch n go if i can finish this July 1969 bike by the end of July.
