What do you do when the importer for the luggage rack you need for a upcoming road trip, doesn't have stock and the international shipping costs are almost the same price as the item. ?

    Make your own of course.

Cost me $30 aud for some 5mm aluminium plate, and two days in the shed.

I did exactly the same back in 2010 when I wanted to mount an E21 Givi to the non exhaust side of a Scrambler900. When I traded that in for the new Tiger800XC I drilled more holes in the plate to match the holes holding the rear cover on and had some spacers made. Voila, a topbox mounting plate..
I drilled even more holes in it to suit the rear rack on my Tiger955i so that I could mount a topbox on that.

That's very well done! I had a much simpler project to mount the big Givi box on my Trophy (far enough back for my usual pillion to sit comfortably). A couple of rectangular aluminum plates extended the mounting back. No where near as professional- looking as yours!!

Yes, very nice, when you turn your mind to it it’s amazing what can be achieved with a little lateral thinking.

Back in 2012 I bought a Ventura luggage kit (made in NZ) to fit my Ducati for upcoming trips to Luxembourg and Normandy. More recently I acquired a new 2021 Striple and was invited to join a group going to Wales for 6 days. So with the Ventura kit in the garage there just had to be a way to make it fit the Striple. This is the result. The kitchen sink is in there somewhere.
