orig.jpg Here is a pix of the first ever built hurricane made buy Craig Vetter, He was paid by BSA to build a bike for the US market and as you can see it was originally built as a BSA as were all the rest of the production models, only the name on the tank changed as Triumph took over. bsa 750 1.jpg

I know someone who owned one, reckoned the extended forks and high bars upset the handling rather, and the small tank restricted the range.

    Nice styling but that's all

Here’s a picture of mine built from baskets. I did my own boring and decking. I bored the Amal bodies and sleeved the slides to stay with original carbs. Made several mild steel parts and reproduced them out of 316 Stainless. I had the left side crankshaft journal plug up. The crank and rods were in the case and built it from there up. Didn’t tear done any further so it threw a rod. Housing needs welded, but it is what it is. Bought a bigbore kit, Mikuni carbs, MAP CNC pistons but found a stock set of NOS pistons and cylinders and new rods so it’s going back to a stock 750. I had bored it .060 and rode it like a race bike. Like I noted in another post, shitting at 8000+ rpms with a 45 pound crank and heavy basket caseI it sound like a rocket with very little rpm loose I built it to show how an old school “BRIT” bike really need to be riden. It’s in The Horse mag Oct 2016. I have remachined all internal gears, drill holes to lighten and remachined all the clutch parts to help the rotating balance. Pictures from the magizine.
