Apparently only 1100 made nearly all shipped to USA, 4 now registered in U.K. So I was told. Came with a £25k price tag, love it but not the price! IMG_0669.JPG IMG_0670.JPG

Moto Central in Leicestershire has had one on display for years, never thought they would be worth that....

What was the bike next to it ? Looks interesting ?

It was a royal enfield, there were around 20 bikes there most looked fresh out of barns, Norton, Triumph and Royal. All very interesting!

Well I'm stunned but if peeps are willing to pay that sum then good luck to them. £25000 just seems to me to be entering territory of more exotic bikes such Vincent etc. and I know which I would prefer.

Just had a quick look around and it seems like my pricing might be a bit out of touch :oops::oops:

Only worth what somebody is willing to pay.
Buying for investment is a gamble.
Buying for personal pleasure, you pay what it is worth to you.

As far as I know, the RGS was, as Ade says, a tuned A10 but in a modified Gold Star frame. I believe that the dealer Eddie Dow had the idea for the bike which BSA took to production.
As with most things involving my memory, I'm open to correction.

Gold Star were 350 and 500 singles, beautiful bikes but more for racing than commuting.
Worth big money these days, but be careful if buying you are not just getting a lookalike.

As Ade and Steve said the Rocket Gold Star was a modified Goldie frame fitted with a 650 Super Rocket twin motor that had some mods like bigger carb, higher compression etc. oh and of course the RRT2 gearbox. Some might say that this enabled BSA to use up bits from the newly defunct A10 and Goldie ranges at a time when the brand new 'Power Egg' A65 did not have a sporting model in the range!

Yeah it does look cool from that side, shame it was parked close to the wall. Is that what they call it a 'Hurricane '

One of these was at Loomies the other week - generating a lot of interest - but the guy was leaving before I had a chance to get off the bike and take pictures. Love that triple one-sided exhaust but a very disappointing sound when he took off up the hill - a wee bit on the "tinny" side.

Nah I've peaked sorry. That's all I've got on this one. Lovely bike though. I've seen a street triple done in hurricane style. Looked triffic.
