Bloody news reporters, correspondents, people that report news. You are professional talkers! Yet the amount of stutters, um's and ah's. Well wort a rant There was none of this 20 years ago.
I'm well er what's er your take on lt then . And for the younger reporters, don't forget multipul likes and, so.
Its probably exaggerated because I have a really hard time tring to listen to people talk with my hearing damage. Watch a video from back in the 50's or so. Its so much easier to listen to and understand. They spoke clearly and didnt fumble round their words back then.
I can’t say I’m massively impressed with this either... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-60576639
Apparently MP's pay was frozen last year due to the pandemic (poor little mites) This year I think MP's should be frozen.
At present our union are still negotiating this year's pay offer - which is currently a very generous pay freeze the same as last year. Any offer we can hope to gain is likely to be below inflation as it has been for the last few years, so, in effect a pay cut again in real terms. We're paid little enough for what can be a stressful job (although I love it) with a lot of responsibility and like many others have seen workload increase with Covid. It is terrible for morale.
@Mrs Visor … even the one significant pay rise the nhs had in the last 12 years was a BS unfair one… the people with expertise, keeping the place running got feck all… it’s been effectively a pay cut after pay cut when you factor in the last decade.
There are unfortunately a lot of us in the same boat - those who work to protect / support the public in various ways mainly!!
How right you are. 30 years Fire Service. I’ve been out coming up 7 years and I’ve had better pay rises every year since retiring than the people still doing the job. Outrageous, absolutely outrageous. How we redress the balance I really do not know. “Thank you for your service” yeah right.
Well I for one think that all our emergency services are briliant, and the government doesn't show them all the respect that they so rightly deserve, or a proper amount of money that should reflect their gratitude for the work that they all do. So as a normal (Debatable I know) member of the British public, cheers for all you have done for people in the past.
I just thought, the MPs could accept a nice, stirring round of applause instead of the pay rise… I’ll happily stand outside my house and bang some pots and pans for a minute if it means they reject the money.
