What they won't and what they get are two different matters on that basis the whole nation could up sticks and want to come
Sorry it's not that simple. I have family who have lived in the US for decades, that does not give me the right to live in the US. If I want to see them I'd take a holiday and visit them. The vast majority of those trying to get to UK are just trying to get here for a percieved easy life, and they have most likely crossed through many safe counties in the EU in an attempt to get here. And if they are coming from the African continent then there are safe countries on their own door step. Also the UK is full, see my earlier post regarding population density.
I never wrote something different. It's the way it is, and it is not right to have this situation, we all agree. I'm not defending France or whatever. I juts try to give a clear view.
No be sure I don't, I'm not making up the complexity of the situation. The difference is I don't resume that to simple solution. Those people are there, and now? Apart on the pink glasses, I agree with you
If they were repatriated and that was made a clear policy, it would solve the problem instantly. Remove the incentive, solve the problem.
That's where it starts to be complicated. To repatriate people you need to make sure they are not in danger in their own country. Most of them know what to say to pretend that. Some hide their identity, country of origin, etc etc. When it's possible, some people are repatriate, or spread into other french cities (even there in Aix les bains which is a posh area). All this situation is a big trap. The only suitable solution would be those people not to travel away from home.
Deliver them back to Libya, or whatever nearest African country and give them a push bike each. I've seen enough of them on pushbikes making their way up through Italy, Slovenia etc, if they're that keen to cycle turn em round and let them cycle home.
I didn’t say I was married to her, just that you wouldn’t like her! If it makes any difference, she apparently enjoys shooting her pistol and can suck start a Harley Davidson... sometimes the grass isn’t greener
Never oil a builders squeaky wheelbarrow wheel. It’s the only way you will know when he is working. Alfie
Went food shopping last night and you’d think that the lockdown had been completely lifted and there were no restrictions anymore the way people were acting. No distancing going on, shop staff stood next to each other chatting, even a woman with an NHS ID lanyard on coming right up next to me to get something off a shelf. You’d think she’d know better I can see us being forced back into harder restrictions if people don’t keep following guidelines and there’s a spike in cases again.
