Love Donington, have done 2 Ron Haslam schools there about 20 yrs ago, last track day I did there was 2004, then I raced there last year for the first time, there was no test day, I thought I remembered the track .... I didn't! crashed at Coppice on lap 1 race 1 ... ouch!
Can’t really see much racing taking place this year in the UK. Certainly not the Motogp/WSB or Brit S/Bikes due to social distancing unless the TV companies have a say or the rules are relaxed. I’d rather watch club racing myself as you know Billy, but can’t see much happening there either especially if no or few spectators are allowed in. Don’t think many clubs will be able to afford circuit fees etc without the entrance fee money as little as it is at some circuits. But we can all live in hope
Last time I did a trackday at Donnington, someone forgot where the track went at Coppice and came up the hill approaching it too fast before nearly having the bloke behind me off and taking me out by hitting my rear wheel as he went through the people dropping into the bend! DS
You are right, I know that restricted amount of competitors & each one only allowed one person with them coupled with no paying spectators will mean very high entry fees! For now I will content myself with getting some more track days in, practice makes perfect and all that!
I just missed my braking marker because I was so intent on passing the guy in front, basically ran out of talent, then track!
If it was easy, everyone would be doing it ;-) Know I'm not a racer, enjoy riding a bike but not competitive at all. DS
Well things have moved on a little, NG Racing the organising club for the series I race in have opened entries for Cadwell Park 17th to 19th of July and also Anglesey in August. I have entered Cadwell in the hope that the general population don't act like twats & stop doing the sensible responsible stuff to stop the spread of the virus .... yeah! I know, Cadwell probably won't happen!
Just booked a track day at Castle Combe for Weds 10th of June, need to get out on the bike again before racing it, woo-hoo! got something to look forward to!
Nowt to be ashamed of, crashing at Coppice, Billy. Crashed there misen! Same as thee, missed mi braking marker. Easily done there, wit blind uphill approach.
I could crash in the pit lane mate! Just joking, only 2 crashes in the whole 2019 season, one of them was in practice, if you ain't crashing you ain't trying!
