The owner said the pump kept filling and the fuel poured onto the manifold. The fuel tank insert is poorly designed - you can not see the level. Basically fill slowly, keep covered up and do not straddle bike on filling. He got burns but is alive to tell the tale
I can’t see where the owner said ‘the pump kept filling’. But he seems to be assuming it did. Wouldn’t need much movement of the nozzle combined with a shallow tank and a body looking somewhere else, for the tank to overflow without there being a problem with the automatic supply cut off in the pump.
