Hi all,had the triumph QS fitted on pickup of new 17 s3r,no problem until yesterday, intermittently it won't shift, it just doesn't engage n the bike starts revving its tits off until I quickly upshift again,I can bumble around town and it works fine but get on a good stretch n give it some it plays up,tried 5/6/7thousand rev changes, spoke to dealer who had me check if clutch switch was ok,no problem there so have it booked in next week?,gear lever got bit of play in not sure if normal n had new tyres fitted recently, any ideas?
Clutch changes spot on,which is what I'm using till it sorted

    Hi!
Could it be that you are being a bit too soft with the switches? I found the quickshifter on my 2016 Speed to be a bit harder to shift than other quickshifters I have encountered in the past. It happened to me once or twice that if I did not apply sufficient force on the foot while upshifting, the gear would not "latch" and subsequently dropped to the lower gear causing a surge in RPMs.

Also should be using a firm very quick up shift not leaving your foot on the lever this method should work well if it doesn't suspect the quick shifter at fault
Is it loose on the mounts (rod ends)?
Have you been a bit over zealous on the washing?

Yeah did think at first it was a little lazy changing on my part as it started late in the day after being in saddle for 4 hours,so consiciously the next day was on it for every shift n it started again:mad:

As others said it requires a firm positive shift. Obviously not to a point you feel as if your toe is going to fall off ;-), if that's the case then it needs to be looked at. check the plug in connectors are all intact,

More of a sharp stab at the lever rather than a long smooth operation

    Hi all!

I have a problem like this. Sometimes the quickshifter does not shift up the gear and I get a jerk on my bike.

So what is the correct method to use the quickshifter? I don't understand the meaning of "positive pedal force" that is written on the owner's handbook

    Thanks in advance

    "positive pedal force"

Hi mate - just got my Speed triple as well so have experienced the same sort of grabby snatchy changes you mention.
It's a problem caused by me not being used to a quickshifter , rather than any issue with the bike.
A positive pedal force can best be explained as - change up as if you mean to not gently or worried your going to brake the shift lever and being over cautious.
Be positive whith the upward action of your boot.
First few miles my brain would'nt let me keep the throttle at a fixed position , even my clutch hand occasional worked on its own.
    Hope this helps .
    Jeff.
