Cheers Dougie. Done a few of these in the past - always worth asking for an upgrade when you check in - they are only trying to fill empty rooms after all. We once stayed at a large Georgian coaching inn and the room they offered was a bit small and on the front by the main road. A quick check if they had any other rooms got us the honey moon suite with huge bathroom and sitting area for the same money!
when me and andy did our wee tour last year we were on the R251 and joined the N6 about 5 miles south of where that Hotel is,lovely roads over there and very similar to Scotland
