I used to drink Ruddles County ale in a small pub in Ticknall, between Burton and Derby, in the 1970's, lovely beer back then, brewed at the Ruddles brewery in Oakham. Brewery is long demolished and a housing estate now stands over the site. A beer called Ruddles is still available, in bottles at least, but is a mere shadow of its former self. No idea who produces it. However, there is no such thing as bad beer, some are just better than others, so cheers! Keep up the stirling work Steve, I'm quite envious!
Finally made it to my favourite pub - The Hand in Hand. Been here many times before but nice to be back. This is the smallest pub in Brighton despite the claims of the Queens Arms!
Finally made it to my favourite pub last night. The good news is that the beer I drink, St. Georges Bitter was on top form. The slightly bad news is that the price has shot up to £3 per pint. The absolutely terrible news is that Louise the voluptuous smiling happy barmaid has left.
