Why is it that spares for Triumphs are so much more expensive than other bikes? Even third party prices are bloody stupid. Example - thermo switch for a 900 Trident - £25 with P+P, same for a Honda hornet? £4.99 for a Chinese one. Front brake pads - £25, Honda Hornet which are actually larger £12.00 - same make. Universal fuel tap £15, Triumph 900 £63 plus additional handling / carriage. I think we are being royally ripped off.
Plus £4.95 shipping and handling :-( I had to buy one but I think it's way too much for something that costs 1/4 as much on some bikes / cars. I'll bet it's used on other vehicles but it's finding it that's the problem. I had a similar thing with a heater control valve on a Jag S Type - over 100 quid but the same valve used on a different car 35 quid - same manufacturer, it came in the same box.
Think yourself reasonably lucky, It would cost me the stg price plus £8 shipping plus the exchange rate & fees for the same part. I'm currently waiting for an order from Triumph ( taken nearly a month now ) some parts on back order, going to cost me £15 shipping plus Exch rate & fees. There are parts that will fit from other applications but its finding them.
