Very nice Dan, is the bike an actual TFC or have you done that yourself, i notice you have lovely black side casings, and black springs, and your front forks are Ohlins, i was led to believe my thruxton R front forks are Showa? But anyway, that sure is a beautiful bike.
Thanks. It’s an actual Thruxton TFC. Very similar, but refined, ride in my opinion compared to the R. And I absolutely love the R.
er..yes did over pack a bit Hoping to get to Rome next year, so a good trial. Definitely need to switch tyres - have some Angel GT's to try...the OE Corsa's are now done.....
Thanks Phil , i decided that your Hepco and Becker was the better looking and when i have a pillion seat and pillion attached, the side grab rails will be useful , although these new in the uk are around £160 i managed to get a new one on Ebay today for £65, so a real bargain, well pleased.
Thanks Phil , i decided that your Hepco and Becker was the better looking and when i have a pillion seat and pillion attached, the side grab rails will be useful ,also will be useful when moving backwards from my shed. although these new in the uk are around £160 i managed to get a new one on Ebay today for £65, so a real bargain, well pleased. Does it fit onto the rear shocks pivot point or just under the seat? I cant quite see.
Received the new rack and fitted it in less than ten minutes, well pleased with it, just in time for out trip today to Abergavenny, was able to carry a bag, which included a small cool bag for the stubbies and salt and vinegar crisps and peanuts.
Just been in the garage fitting a grab rail for the missus to cling onto!!! What a bugger of a job!!!
And before anyone says it, I know it’s pretty dirty haha! Just got back from a wet and windy (the weather not me) week long trip to Cornwall...the wash is happening later!
So you probably need a new tyre now, i find that a longish trip seems to wear your rear tyre, one minute you got tread, the next day you look and theres nothing left and its smooth, just fitted a Bridgestone BT023 to my bike in the hope it lasts longer, the original Pirelli corsa Rosso barely did 4000miles , as its a sports/track tyre i suppose so quite a soft tyre. When you clean your bike don't make the same mistake as i did, using muc off spray aint the way to go trust me, i will explain if anyone is interested but the good old soap and water is what i will be using in future.
Just back from a 200km ride south of Gothenburg. Wet, dirty and as always wonderful! I really enjoy this bike. Now, the not so fun part is left, washing the bike. F
