The weather today was beautiful the plan was to get the bike Thursday (tomorrow) but nephew suddenly has to go to Sofia so that put a spanner in the works however he had to go to VT this afternoon and the bike was a few KM outside VT so I tagged along and after he finished his errand we went to get the bike so it's home now:-

It did not go as smoothly as was expected the bike will not idle unless the "choke knob" is pulled slightly out am thinking due to the time standing with no fuel in the float bowls the idle jets and circuit is clogged up seems to be a pretty common ting for these bike that get left standing with the fuel evaporated plus it had almost no fuel in the tank and I mean NONE did not even make it the 150m to the petrol station it cut out and luckily a downward slope to the forecourt I coasted in and up to the pump then filled the tank just looked at the receipt and though it was not filled right up to the neck only 9.5 litres were put in need to check what the fuel tap is turned too as it might have hit reserve................... didn't think of that at the time.

Now have not been on a bike since the accident on 22nd September and this is the first time using forward controls on a bike which to be honest felt weird at first the Shadow felt a little strange at low speeds just need to get used to it. The throttle is quite heavy will have to look into that and see if it can be lightened at all also need to get a workshop manual. Well it's home and can spend some time going over it and getting her set up to suit me and of course running right. The plan has always been some aftermarket less restrictive pipes so the carbs would need to be re-jetted for those.

Edit:- As it's no longer a possible replacement I will start a new thread on the Shadow VT600.
