https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classi...ype=trade&make=TRIUMPH&price-from=5500&page=1 This looks like a deal and seems to be a fair price for mine ( Triumph Sprint GT 2011). What do you guys think, Im mulling it over.
Would anyone have a 15 over a 16 plate, now we know you can change the ECU ( more than once?) its just that you cant change it back?
Good question, and to answer you, I want a B road weapon, that I can sit on for 6 hours a day ( with breaks), the luggage Ill worry about later ,also some comfort / oomph. Anyone dealt with Bournemouth Bikes LTD, formally Motorcycle Trade-Ins?
it might be an idea to get a test ride from Shirlaws, some folk complain about the suspension being on the firm side but I've never had a problem with comfort on long runs..it helps if your on the heavy side! the bars are a bit lower than the Sprints so maybe not as comfy if your doing a lot of town riding? but you can get risers if you find it's a problem
Im very sure I wouldnt mind the harder suspension, although I like my comforts, I hardened up my forks in the winter and enjoy the result. The comfort Im used to with the Sprint wont be there with the Speed, only I have never heard any-one complain about the comfort on the Speed,I know its not the first concern for that bike, on the other hand all the feed back is positive. I threw a spanner in the works this weekend past when I started looking at the 765 Street. lots of bike for the money and less than a year old in some cases. MCN just love that bike. Im back on the Speed for the size ( cos of my size) and its the only bike Ive looked at, for any length of time, the reviews make it a bike to own once.
I was told by a member that they wont be using that establishment, no more, thats good enough for me. Anyway it was slightly expensive for year etc, So all in all there are plenty to choose from, why go for one that isnt rated.
Mines a 15 plate abs, I do have the gel seat on mine and can honestly say it's one of the most comfortable bikes I've owned....... What's this about ECU changing? Not heard that one.
On the 2016 (dont quote me) The ECU can be changed but not changed back, to stop claims the engine broke its self.
All comments are true, the suspension is on the firm side but can be sorted. The bar height was a problem which I sorted for less than a tenner with 20mm spacers and longer through bolts. Get a comfy gel seat and heated grips and it's a bike you can ride for miles and miles. Its Easy to service, tuneecu is must, all in all i great bike but I don't miss It, think the 06 plate I owned was a better bike .
