I really really should learn to be more patient Threw my toys out of the pram at the weekend when the paint came off when I tried to put the sticker on Just been to look at the PORTALOO and the paint has cured lovely So I’m now gonna stick with my original colour scheme and re-do the damaged area Don’t think It’ll be ready for the into the valley rally But hey....I’ve got my professionally built trailer from last year You can never have enough trailers and top boxes
Absolute feckin disaster Masking up to put a stripe on the PORTALOO and now the BLACK paint has decided it doesn’t want to play ball I can’t begin to tell you how feckin pissed off I am at the moment Bollox to this I’m off to my brother in laws 60th later and I’ll drown my sorrows with large quantities of beer and Jack Daniels Tomorrow I’ll start putting the electrics back together and get it ready for Friday when I’m off to the into the valley rally Just gonna use it as is for the time being as I can’t be feckin arsed with it right now
Sorry to see this result. Forgive me for asking the obvious, but besides DD's comment about UV coatings, was this spray paint (especially the primer) made for plastics? I've had a similar experience trying to use metal spray paints on plastics.
I did sand it mate and rubbed it down with one them green kitchen things but I think you might be right about UV coating At this moment in time I don’t give a shit and I’m just gonna get it back together and use it the way it is Maybe have another go later in the year
The primer was PLASTIC primer The paint ....well that was just ordinary run of the mill silver and BLACK in rattle cans Gonna just forget about it for a while I’ll do some better research and preparation before I attempt it again
If you have a model shop near - you can get heat shrink sheets - cover the surface and heat with jot gun or hairdryer. It' used on aircraft wings
Last night I got very very drunk So feeling too woolly headed to go for a ride I decided to return to the job in hand Put the electrics back on and the number plate Stared at it for a while and thought feck it let’s see if I can rescue the job Any way it’s going really rather well I won’t tempt fate by posting progress pictures but will post some pictures of it when it’s finished
