Getting the bits together to put the swinging arm on then I'm going to order some tyres & tubes then I can at least push it around and call it "Harley".

    Appearances can be misleading.
    Mechanics is not my forte.

Wheels are pitted but i've got them fairly clean and shiny, just need a bit more work. The mudguards are pretty well knackered chrome wise. I'll have to take them down to the metal and let you put some shiny "chrome like" paint on them.

Had a good result today. I was struggling to get all four steel sleeves into the swinging arm. I could get three in but the fourth only half way and I didn't want to risk hurting it so I took the arm and the sleeves to my local engineers to get things accurately measured up. They weren't hard to get out three years ago.
Anyway, two sleeves were the same diameter, one was a bit bigger and one bigger still. On closer examination the insides of each sleeve were badly ridged.
If you look carefully, you can see the ridges inside:-

Anyway, the nice guy asked me if they were expensive to buy and I said yes(they are £19.50 each at David Silver Spares + Vat + Postage) and he said well "they aren't expensive here", so I said how much and he said "twenty quid for four".
So about 2/3 hours later there's a knock at my door and the nice man's got my swinging arm with four new sleeves attached as below pic:-

    Excellent result Andy.

David Silvers can be a tad expensive. I was told years ago that when he was clearing shops out of their old stock he was only paying 1-2% of the parts value
But I suppose if the part is unobtainable after trawling the planet via the interweb then you have to pay the price.

@andypandy does that mean you’ve got a spare set of sub-standard ones left @ over £100?
