For the first time I attempted an oil change on a T100. I did put some oil on the filter gasket before attaching it to the bike.

Oil seems to be leaking from around the filter after a ride. I used a torque wrench to tighten the filter at 10 Nm which is the number in the Haynes book for the T100.

Should I tighten the filter? I am worried about getting it off if I overtighten it. Should I tighten to specific torque, or just try 1/4 turn?

This guide suggests 8-12 Nm. Should I just trying increasing filter torque to 12Nm?

    A 1/4 turn couldn't hurt.
Was the surfacing all clean though?
Also, was it the recommended type/one too?

I tightened up the filter 1/4 turn (which was beyond 12NM on my little torque wrench). I might be back asking how to get it off sometime.

I also noticed oil was dripping from another spot, it is possible (probable) I put too much oil on the chain which I did at the same time. I don't think the filter was actually leaking though who knows.
