Oil Filter Removal Tool

just measured a new filter. it is 65mm. Get one of these adjustable ones and never look back.

 

glad to help. got tired of so many different sized cups. ( although a large cup is a good thing. hehe). i also have a larger one for bigger car filters.

 

Hammer a screwdriver through it, no tool required!

Drill a couple holes in the bottom of your removal tool large enough to fit a small self-tapping screw through. Place on bottom of filter, run the screws up into the filter and remove. It doesn't bugger up your tool and will grip your filter. Just a slight bit messier. Do not use this approach to install new filter.

 

Main thing is just not to overtighten it, you should be able to remove it wearing rubber gloves, if you need the removal tool it’s too tight.

 

Wouldnt be the first time I've seen someone pierce the sump or crankcases doing this !!

 

And dont fit it dry, lubricate the seal with oil on the new filter before fitting
