The thought had crossed my mind ... ive checked .. and as far as I can tell .. its the sump that it came with back in 2000 .
screw what the glass reads as long as you put in the correct specified volume of oil and no leaks you're fine,i always place a thin large piece of card/paper under my bike to spot any leaks,saying that get close up pics of sump and casings in case all is not standard or way its meant to be on the bike.
