Looking good, going to be really interesting to see it when your fully done with all your mods, keep up the great work, cheers
Hi lessaint, the bike looks very cool. What are the pipes? They look like they'll give a decent bark.
For £299 they are well made with what looks like 304 stainless, they are a quick fit, and sound like Sara Ferguson on her vinegar stroke. I have only done about 50 miles with them on without the baffles no issues
I have spent a few ours today, although you wouldn't think it, getting ready for the return of my re-engineered front wheel. A few things to sort after the front wheel is offered up and checked, but so far very happy
Just the mudguard to sort now, bleeding the brakes today torque everything up then maybe a little test ride on the local Queens highway's
Don, thank you for that, it is purely an aesthetics exercise, I have been spoilt since the late 90s as i have owned 6 Aprilia's all either "Race" or "Factory" with the Ohlin's set up. I have set the rear Ohlin's up to standard as on the Thruxton R. I'm no Foggy but i want to be able to look at my "Bonnie" and think "That's a nice looking fucking bike". I cannot find the post but someone posted the recommended front Ohlin's settings, that the member had set his up on his Speed Triple R. The weather is dreich at the moment here in the Badlands, so going to prime the hydraulics and hope for the weather to change.
Wheeled her into the ginnel, for a natural light shot, I'm on furlough at work so the mudguard will have to wait as i cant get access to our plasma
I like to see original, but i like tinkering, triumph couldn't do a Speed Twin "R" as it would cross over with the Thruxton "R", so i decided to have a tinker and came up with "Leslie's Speed Twin R"
The front mudguard needs attention, i want to maintain the original i will draw/design a set of brackets, but i cant get them manufactured as i am on lock down but i will keep posting till complete
